Okay, we love cups of tea with cake. Infact we adore them. We are an official member of the tea appreciation society (http://www.teaappreciationsociety.org/tea.asp?page=home). However of late, our tea intake has decreased a little and our coffee cravings have increased - in particular lattes. Especially the very unhealthy full fat milk versions (we have been asked if we would like a "skinny soy milk latte" before! for the record we would most certainly not! there is no such thing as a soy cow). Anywho, we've started teaming our coffees up with our portions of cake. This probably means absolutely nothing at all other than a caffiene addiction. However, we do feeel slightly guilty about it, why? We haven't the foggiest. We are still a dedicated tea lover, we've just taken on more coffee. Why are we even explaining ourselves?! It must be the caffiene twitch we've developed. We feel a little better for sharing. Tea and cake is fantabulous whereas coffee and cake is just enjoyable. Here is some of the latter...

By the way, the cake is coconut. Yummmmmm.

We've put the tea bag in the cup, boiled the kettle, poured the water into the cup, opened the fridge...and there's no milk! Gasping.

We don't stride or power walk or run. We like to stroll, walk slow and sometimes dawdle. Get over it. If you're in a rush, then bloody well overtake us! Jeeeez! Was there really any need for a massive huff, a sigh or a shove?! We think not. Calm down. You see that space next to us on the pavement? Well. take a step towards it and walk past. We won't bite you or push you into the road, however, blatant acts of appaulling manners may result in the previously mentioned.
Yes...we may have got out of the wrong side of bed this morning.

Sometimes you have to give in to that lump in your throat or quiver in your lip and let the tears cascade down your face. It might be embarrassing or even inappropriate, but the relief will make up for it. There is obviously a reason behind you soaking a tissue or a handy shoulder, so just let it happen. It can be very freeing to just cry. It will be the start of you feeling a little better about whatever is making you cry in the first place. Honestly.
And if a loved one or friend is there to share the emotion or just help soak up your tear-drops then all the better. If you're as lucky as us, you'll get a cup of tea and a biscuit too. There, that's better isn't it? Isn't that feeling you get when you can breathe through your nose again and your face is less swollen wonderful? We think so. So maybe next time you're telling yourself not to cry, don't listen.

If you love what you wear because it reflects you, along with the little quirky touches that really really make it your attire, then keep on wearing it. There have been times where we at fay-loves-cake have been given suggestions to perhaps tone it down, change the colour of our tights or reduce the shineyness and sparkle. It has caused a sub-conscious effort to become a little more bland in order to please others. And of late, we feel this has caused unnecessary misery and frown lines. Basically kids, if somebody tells your clothes to pipe down a bit, then politely tell them to sod off and ignore everything they are saying. If what you wear is an extension of what is inside you then why on earth should you let another take bits away?! (we are still totally pro donor cards!).
Shiney silver moon boots were worn the other week and received plenty of praise and even in-depth discussions (thank you J.L) about their attributes and useful functions when travelling around the moon's surface. These are the ones we should be listening to, the ones who deserve to come in, sit down and drink tea from the posh china! We have decided to always take a moment to appreciate the choices made in regards to an outfit. Stick to those who enjoy what you choose to wear even if they dont like it, and to those who have style you could never pull-off but are a constant inspiration (D.P.M.S).
This rant was brought to you in a state of sleep, tea and cake deprivation. We are off to rectify the situation XXX
